Pakistan cricket board (PCB) chief Shaharyar Khan launched a scathing attack on the national team following the historic series defeat to India, lashing players guilty of "carefree unprofessionalism". Announcing plans for an inquiry into the series defeat - the first ever suffered by a Pakistani team to India on home soil - Khan said on Sunday he was shocked at the way Pakistan had collapsed in the decider.
Sounding tough after a wave of media criticism denouncing Akhtar for refusing to bowl after he sustained a wrist and rib injury on the second day of the Test match, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said a special Medical Committee would be constituted to inquire and determine whether the injuries were serious enough. India wrapped up a remarkable victory in Rawalpindi on Friday, clinching a 2-1 series triumph by an innings and 131 runs.
